Hmmm... SEC, CBN, NDIC and now House of Reps all joining the bandwagon of negativity around the MMM programme.
The government is officially at war with Nigerians. The Nigerian House of Representatives continue to amaze me. It took them less that 3 hours to conclude their deliberations on MMM, but they never did anything to the Nigerian economy, the price of foodstuffs, the falling Naira etc.
# When Buhari increased fuel from 85 to 145, where were they?
# When dollar crashed from N200 to N470 where were they? When foodstuff prices increased by 300% where were they?
It is interesting to note that I have not seen any merit in what ALL their arguments. They keep calling MMM what MMM is not: A deposit or wonder bank , A ponzi scheme, A business, An investment scheme, A scam etc.
All these noise is just making MMM more popular. Many people never knew about MMM before, but now everybosy knows.
The government's argument is not effective because they are arguing from a point of ignorance about how MMM works and its ideology.
1. The House of Reps CANT ORDER the EFCC to arrest INNOCENT PEOPLE. They are there to make laws.
2. The EFCC/Police cant just ARREST people on the street for talking to another person or for organizing a business conference. Remember, Nigeria is a Democracy. We have Freedom of Speech and Freedom of Association.
3.The so-called charges are baseless. No Judge will hear such case because MMM is not breaking any law in Nigeria. also, MMM is not accepting any depost from anybody.
4. It is difficult to stop people transferring money to each other.
The government just wants to use threats and fear to discourage people. Nevertheless, this phase will pass.
PS:
The most sensible thing to do is to take our arguments to them at the National Assembly.
Use the links below to contact them and let them know what MMM is really about and how exatly we feel about it.
They were elected to do what we tell them to do, not what some pobbyists pay the to do.
